Based on the Cost of Living in Chicago Real Estate there was a 2008 report released that our index is at 115.7%. This is 15.7% higher than the US average. Obiviously this biggest contributer to this reasoning is the 2016 Olympic Games. As Chicago is in the running our retail tax is 10.25% and parking has become extremely expensive. Although this is a great opportunity for Chicago to show off its city, the residents here are getting a little sceptical on how high our cost of living will actually go.< back
